Pedro J. S. Cardoso received a Ph.D. in the field of Mathematics/Operations Research from the University of Seville, Spain, a M.Sc. degree in Computational Mathematics from the University of Minho, Portugal, and a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He is a professor and researcher at the Universidade do Algarve for more than two decades and a member of the the Associate Laboratory of Robotics and Engineering Systems (LARSyS). He has broad knowledge in the fields of algorithms and data structures in general, with particular emphasis in the field of machine learning and multiple objective meta-heuristics. Over the past years, he has been involved in over a dozen scientific and development projects, authored more than ninety publications, and is the editor of over a dozen of books.
