Abstract

The Schmidt rebound technique is discussed regarding the consistency of hardness results obtained in final form polished granite tiles ready to be commercialized for flooring. Analysis of the observational data shows that the Schmidt hammer methodology gives an accurate and consistent index for hardness characterization of different types of granite used as flooring tiles.
