Resumo

An approximate method is proposed to describe the load shortening curves of stiffeened panels, including the post-buckling behaviour. The model accounts for the influence of plate and stiffener distortions and residual stresses on the ultimate load of the stiffened plates using a finite element program in the relevant range of plane and column slenderness.
