Description
This progress report presents an innovative tool design for manufacturing thin-walled hollow spheres in a single-stage forming process. The set-up consists of two sharp-edge dies and a floating ring and its overall performance is analysed by means of finite element modelling and experimentation on commercial AA6063-T6 aluminium tubes under laboratory conditions.
