In 2007 I acquired a PhD in Chemistry from IST. I went on to do post-doctoral works at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen (Germany) where I studied FRET imaging in neurons of animal models, and at IST, studying the membrane organization of PI(4,5)P2 and other lipids. In 2017 I joined the DBE as an Invited Assistant Professor and since 2019 I am an Assistant Professor of the Bioengineering Department of IST.
