Brij Briz Mohan is a materials chemist specializing in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent and hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (COFs/HOFs), chemical sensing, and energy and environmental functional materials. He currently serves as a researcher at the Centro de Química Estrutural, Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), where he leads research in structural and electrochemical materials science and mentors researchers. He also holds visiting professorships at Chiang Mai University (Thailand) and Hainan Normal University (China), and serves as PI & Head of the Nanochemistry Lab and External Scientific Lead (Remote) at NanoTRIZ (Australia). Dr. Mohan has authored more than 128 SCI-indexed publications with over 3,100 citations and holds a Scopus H-index of 31 (Google Scholar H-index: 33). He was recognized among Stanford University’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists worldwide in 2024 and 2025. His research focuses on the design and synthesis of advanced porous and hybrid materials for applications in biosensing, healthcare diagnostics, food safety monitoring, water remediation, contaminant adsorption, and materials-enabled energy harvesting technologies, including osmotic energy and nanogenerators. In addition to his research leadership, he contributes to global scholarly activities as an editorial board member for BMC Chemistry, BMC Cancer, and Discover Materials, and as a peer reviewer for major scientific publishers including Elsevier, Wiley, Springer Nature, ACS, and the Royal Society of Chemistry. His work has been supported by competitive international funding agencies, including the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (Portugal), the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission.
