Rafael Cordeiro obtained his B.Sc. in Control and Automation Engineer in 2010, M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2013, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2017, all from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Additionally, he participated in exchange programs with the University of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and the University of Technology of Compiègne, both in France, and with the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal. Between 2018 and 2021, he conducted post-doctoral research at the Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal, as part of a project funded by the European Union, involving the participation of the University of Cranfield in England, the Technical University of Munich in Germany, and the companies Tekever (Portugal) and Meggitt (France). In 2022, Rafael joined as a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) and is part of the Laboratory of Automation and Intelligent Robotics (Lab-AIR). Professor Rafael has been working with autonomous robotic vehicles since 2010, particularly with outdoor vehicles, including electric cars, fixed-wing aircraft, and airships. His reserarch interests include vehicle modeling and control, nonlinear control, estimation processes, and fault detection.
