António is a professor, seasoned consultant and researcher specialized in the field of Scenario Planning, Foresight and Strategy. Over the last 20 years, António has advised and trained +3000 managers in the areas of Scenario Planning, Foresight, Strategy, Horizon Scanning, New Product Development, Innovation and Sustainability. He is the Founder and Executive Director of ALVA R&C, a consulting company specialized in Foresight, Scenario Planning, Strategy and Innovation. He holds a PhD in Management Sciences at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and has a strong background in the coordination of projects, workshops and training sessions in Scenarios, Strategic Foresight methods and Trend Analysis/Scanning. António is a Researcher at CEG-IST (UL) and IHC (FCSH, UNL), and a member of the Advisory Board of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEM, IST, UL). He is Adjunct Associate Professor at Nova SBE (UNL). Previously, he was Adjunct Associate Professor at IST (UL) and ISEG (UL), Director of the Department of Strategies and Economic Analysis of the Portuguese Environment Agency, Rapporteur of the Portuguese Green Growth Commitment, Director of the Department of Innovation and Strategic Sectors of the Lisbon City Council, and Director of the Strategic Foresight Unit of the Portuguese Department of Foresight and Planning. He has contributed to several books and published in journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change; Foresight; The International Journal of Management Science; and International Journal for Equity in Health.
