Marjan (Maria Johanna Elisabeth) Jongen, Ph.D. in Botany (Trinity College, Dublin), is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Lisbon. Her main research interests include: plant ecophysiology and grassland ecology, with emphasis on plant responses to environmental variables, such as elevated carbon dioxide, nutrients and water; role of plant-fungal symbiosis in plant responses to environmental stress; interspecific competition in grassland ecosystems; assessment of the effects of global change on ecosystem functioning and biodiversity.
