AM Azevedo graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1996 and obtained a PhD degree in Biotechnology in 2004, both from IST-ULisbon. She is currently principal investigator at the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences, where she is responsible for the Bioseparation Laboratory. Her current research interests include the design of novel downstream processes for the purification of biological products; miniaturization of unit operations envisaging high-throughput screening and continuous downstream processing. She is associate professor at the Department of Bioengineering since 2022.
