Gennady Yu. Kulikov (b. 1965) is a Senior Researcher (Investigador Principal) at the Center for Computational and Stochastic Mathematics (CEMAT), Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal. He received MSc (1988) from Moscow State University (Diploma Cum Laude), PhD degree (1994) from Computer Engineering Center of Russian Academy of Sciences, and a Habilitation (2002) from Ministry of General and Professional Education of Russian Federation. Before taking the current position, he worked at Ulyanovsk State University, Russia (1993-2003) and, next, as a Senior Lecturer and a Reader (2004-2009) at University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and held a 5-year Researcher Position/Investigador Auxiliar (2009-2013) under "Ciência 2008" program and, then, a 5-year Senior Researcher Position/Investigador Principal (2014-2018) under "FCT Investigador 2013" program both awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Portugal. In 2020 and 2021, G. Yu. Kulikov has been recognized as a TOP 2% cited researcher in the world according to Scopus' data in 2019 (DOI, Table S7) and 2020 (DOI, the second Table 1). Scientific interests/Áreas de Interesse Científico Numerical methods for ordinary differential equations and differential-algebraic systems, global error estimation and control techniques, application to fluid mechanics and nonlinear Kalman filtering.
