Complete biography

S Rabaça graduated in Chemical Engineering at Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 1995 and completed a PhD degree in Chemistry at Instituto Superior Técnico in 2004. S Rabaça acquired solid background and experience in Material Science, Inorganic and Organic chemistry with a strong component in the preparative chemistry and magnetism of molecular materials. In 2008, under the scope of Programa Ciencia, S Rabaca established her own line of research focused on Supramolecular Coordination Chemistry based on transition metal bisdithiolene as a strategy to obtain molecular-based multifuntional materials within the Solid States Group at the Chemistry department in Instituto Tecnologico e Nuclear S Rabaca supervised the work of 6 research students and two PhD students, one of the PhD thesis already concluded in 2013. Since September 2013 and maintaining the line of research started in 2008, S Rabaca won a one year contract as Auxiliary Researcher with IST. The one year contract also gave her the opportunity to lecture Chemistry classes as Assistant Professor in the University at the Chemistry department of Instituto Superior Tecnico. S Rabaça present research interests are focused on the development of molecular magnetic conductors with enhanced interaction between localized magnetic moments and conduction electrons based on new electroactive molecular units, which are bisdithiolene complexes and corresponding TTF type donors with coordinating groups directly attached to the electroactive core, capable of binding to paramagnetic metal ions. It’s also worth mentioning that her scientific path has always comprised a strong synthetic effort, with a clear commitment to the synthesis of new molecular materials
