Biografia completa

I am currently an advisor at the Portuguese Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE), located near one of Portugal’s most iconic landmarks, the Belém Tower—an area also famous for its world-renowned custard tarts. My role encompasses two key responsibilities: (i) studying, supervising, and monitoring the national oil system, and (ii) providing technical and regulatory support to oil system operators and consumers. Before joining ERSE, I pursued my PhD while conducting research at both the Sines refinery (Galp) and Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). This dual experience offered me in-depth exposure to the dynamic oil industry and the opportunity to teach advanced university courses. In 2019, I was awarded a PhD in Refining, Petrochemical, and Chemical Engineering from IST - University of Lisbon, under a joint academia-industry protocol. I also hold an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the same institution, obtained in 2013. Committed to staying at the forefront of my field, I actively continue my research on chemical process integration and the simulation of energy systems.
