I am a theoretical and computational plasma physicist. My primary research interests are in the areas of laser and beam plasma interactions with applications to plasma based accelerators and light sources. I hold a PhD in plasma and computational physics from Instituto Superior Técnico (2010). I was a Humbold post-doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich in 2012, and an FCT researcher (development level) until 2019. I am currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics at IST. I lead the Plasma Photonics Team (p2team) within the Group for Lasers and Plasmas at Instituto de Plasmas e Fusão Nuclear at IST.
