I am a theoretical and computational plasma physicist. My primary research interests are in the areas of laser and beam plasma interactions with applications to plasma based accelerators and light sources. I hold a PhD in plasma and computational physics from Instituto Superior Técnico (2010). I was a Humbold post-doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich in 2012, and an FCT researcher (development level) until 2019. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics in the Scientific Area of Plasma Physics, Lasers and Nuclear Fusion, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon Portugal. I am part of the Extreme Plasma Physics theory and simulation team at the Group for Lasers and Plasmas at IST.
