Miguel C. Teixeira received the BSc and PhD degrees in chemical engineering and biotechnology from Lisbon Technical University, Lisbon, Portugal, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. In 2017 he got his Habilitation in Biotechnology and Biosciences from the University of Lisbon. He is currently an assistant professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon. He is also a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences, IST and associate laboratory i4HB - Institute for Health and Biotechnology. His research interests include yeast molecular and cellular biology; response to stress and multidrug resistance (MDR) in S. cerevisiae and in the pathogenic yeasts of the Candida genus; functional genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics. Since 2002, he has co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed papers in international scientific journals, 11 book chapters and contributed to the public databases PathoYeastract and YEASTRACT. He has further participated in 19 funded research projects, 5 of which as PI. He has/is also supervised/supervising 5 post-doctoral programs, 9 PhD students and 30 MSc students.
