A Moreira received his Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Eng from IST/TUL in 1984, where he has been an Associate Professor in the subjects of Antennas and Radar. He is a senior researcher in the IT/ Wireless Technologies Thematic line. He presently participates in ESA funded Project MARES. He authored about 70 papers, books and conference papers. He has served in several Conf. Technical Programme Committees. He was the General Chair of “IEEE iWAT2010 – International Workshop on Antenna Technology”, held in IST/Lisbon, March 2010.

Antonio A. Moreira was born in Aveiro, Portugal, in 1952. He received the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from IST/TUL in 1984, where he has been an Associate Professor in the subjects of Antennas and Radar. In his academic activities he has lectured courses on Antennas and Radar Systems in IST and also in the Portuguese Naval School, and co-supervised several PhD Thesis and MSc theses, mainly in antennas design for body-centric communications, antenna characterisation for people localisation systems and antenna design and image reconstruction for microwave systems. He is a senior researcher at IT/Lisbon, integrated in the IT - Instituto de Telecomunicações - Antennas and Propagation Group os the Thematic line of Wireless Technologies. He has participated in the RACE Projects "Multigigabit Transmission in the Subscriber Loop", and "MODAL - Microwave Optical Transmission Antenna Link", in the IST projects “ACE – Antenna Center of Excellence”, “FLOWS - Flexible Convergence of Wireless Standards and Services”, and “NEWCOM++ - Network of Excellence in Wireless Communications ++”, - EU-FP7 ICT 20072010, and presently he participates in Project MARES - Satellite-based microwave remote sensing for marine litter mapping, supported by the European Space Agency (ESA). He is the author or co-author of about 70 publications, chapters in books and papers presented at international conferences. He has had a long cooperation with EurAPP being a member of Technical Programme Committees in several editions of EuCAP. He was the General Chair of “IEEE iWAT2010 – International Workshop on Antenna Technology”, held in IST/Lisbon, March 2010, and served as a member of Technical Programme Committee of some editions of IWAT.
