The Laboratory for Physics of Materials and Emerging Technologies (LaPMET) was established in 2021, following the approval of its application for the status of Associated Laboratory by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The consortium is led by the Institute of Physics of Advanced Materials, Nanotechnology and Photonics (IFIMUP) at the University of Porto and includes the Centre of Physics at the University of Minho (CFUM), the Centre of Physics at the University of Porto (CFUP), and the Centre for Physics and Engineering of Advanced Materials (CeFEMA) at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. LaPMET's mission is to drive scientific advancement through interdisciplinary research in quantum materials, communications, photonics, and nanotechnology. By fostering collaboration and leveraging our expertise in physics and materials science, we aim to create impactful solutions that benefit society and contribute to a sustainable future.
