Modelo de Apoio à Decisão de Manutenção Industrial: O Caso do Parque de Madeiras do Complexo Industrial de Setúbal da Navigator Company

Correctly maintaining industrial equipment is crucial to fully use a company's production capacity and, consequently, not compromising its financial health. An equipment breakdown can lead to disruptions or a total shutdown of production lines in a factory, resulting in significant downtime and economic losses. An efficient asset management strategy will allow to increase equipment uptime and reduce the number of production stoppages, thereby enhancing industrial efficiency. The problem studied in this thesis arises from the low industrial efficiency observed in the wood yard of The Navigator Company’s industrial complex in Setubal, a national integrated producer of forest, pulp, paper, tissue, and energy. The main objective of this work is to reduce the downtime in the industrial area and, consequently, increase its industrial efficiency and reduce the associated costs. First, was conducted a characterization of the problem studied, followed by a literature review on the main topics related to it. Next, the initial state of the industrial area was analysed, and a multicriteria decision support model was developed using the MACBETH methodology, assisted by the M-MACBETH software, to determine which pieces of equipment should be replaced and which maintenance plans should be altered. Finally, Microsoft Excel was used to design and implement a maintenance support system for the wood yard
