Passagem do novo túnel de drenagem sobre o túnel do Metropolitano de Lisboa em Santa Apolónia, Lisboa

The present work focuses on the analysis of one of the most complex sections of the Monsanto-Santa Apolónia tunnel, which is part of the Lisbon General Drainage Plan. The project was initiated in response to the frequent flooding in the city of Lisbon, exacerbated by climate change. The research primarily investigates different construction solutions for the crossing of the new drainage tunnel over the Lisbon metro tunnel. In addition to the solution proposed by JETsj, an alternative scenario is suggested, which could have been implemented before the construction of the Terreiro do Paço-Santa Apolónia section of the Lisbon metro line. The objective is to optimise the proposed solution by minimising risks and impacts, while offering a reference solution for future interventions in similar projects. In this context, a review of the relevant literature is conducted, addressing the construction elements to be adopted, current methods of structural analysis, and the design guidelines proposed by Eurocode. The soil-structure interaction of both solutions is analysed using the PLAXIS 3D calculation software, with particular emphasis on the impact on the Lisbon metro tunnel. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of the solutions is carried out, both from a technical and economic perspective, concluding that the adoption of the alternative scenario would have been equally viable, ensuring structural safety and significantly reducing construction costs.
