Abstract
This dissertation studied the so-called Lost Room of the Church of the Convent of Jesus in Setúbal, a space under the convent's high choir whose existence can only be proven by archaeological remains. Its history has many gaps, particularly before 1587 (the year in which the room underwent major alterations, permanently changing it). At the beginning of the construction of the Convent of Jesus (1490), the space was to have been a funerary chapel, eventually losing this function to make way for a new unknown space. With the Lost Room having a rather mysterious character, it is interesting to study the feasibility of possible hypotheses for the configuration of the space through its development in the form of conceptual 3D models (through literary bases and collecting information on site) at two points in time: the final state of the Lost Room before 1587, whose function is unknown; and the initial state of the Lost Room as a funerary chapel in 1490.
