Abstract

Nowadays, most electronic systems are portable and they need to operate powered by small batteries. Therefore, electronic systems need to be designed to target low power consumption. Voltage references are used in almost every electronic system. Targeting low power design of electronic systems, this work will focus on designing a CMOS ultra low power voltage reference. This circuit generates a reference voltage as its output. This voltage should be as much independent as possible of temperature variations. This circuit should also have the maximum PSRR possible and the minimum power consumption. This work presents a novel low-power 0.5 V voltage reference, designed in a 65 nm CMOS technology using an integrated differential pair trimming technique, achieving 28.1 ppm/ºC of temperature coefficient.
