Abstract
Dam monitoring is essential to ensure safety, support decision makers, and address water resource management issues, particularly in triggering crisis alerts. Current methods often lack real-time capabilities and rely on repetitive visualization techniques, increasing risks during emergencies. Our research addresses these challenges by developing a comprehensive dashboard that enables monitoring of critical parameters related to dam safety and performance. This innovative tool enables the exploration of dam behavior data, including water levels, temperatures, structural vibrations, and deformations. It aims to provide engineers and dam operators with actionable information on dam conditions, improving their ability to make informed decisions and effectively mitigate risks. By identifying potential risks early, the dashboard enables stakeholders to implement proactive measures, reducing the likelihood of catastrophic failures and improving overall dam safety. This work has been evaluated as a proof of concept and will evolve into a fully functional version once the integration with Laboratorio Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC)’s database is operational.
