Professor, researcher and practitioner of Science Communication at Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, where I have been leading Communication, Image and Marketing since January 2020. Coordinator of award wining projects, such as science radio show 90 Segundos de Ciência, multimedia program Explica-me como se tivesse cinco anos and science podcast 110 Histórias | 110 Objetos, among other outreach iniciatives. Founder and former President of Portuguese Science Communicators Network SciComPT.

With previous experience as researcher (PhD in Organic Chemistry, 2009) and as former professor in Cell Biology and Toxicology (ULHT, 2004-2013), I became a full time researcher, professor and practitioner in Science Communication in 2012 (ITQB and FCSH, Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and in 2019 moved to Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. In May 2019 I moved to Instituto Superior Técnico as a Researcher where I founded the Science Communication Group, that mobilized all 24 research units into a regular meeting, with the goal of capacitation and empowerment of all scicom officers. Starting January 2020 I became the Head of Communication, Image and Marketing, that includes Science Communication Group, Media and Content (NCM), Image and Public Relations (NIRP) and Student Support Unit (NAPE). I am also part of the Diversity and Gender Balance at Técnico and IST Press. In June 2025 I became Professor in Science Communication, at the From February 2016 - April 2019 I have been Head of ITQB NOVA Communication Office, leading a team of 4 in institutional communication, media relations, design and image and outreach activities. From 2014 to 2016 I have taken the role of executive director at Centro Ciência Viva de Sintra, where I have been working at connecting researchers with the Science Center, planning Science Center activities, coordinating the team and coordinating the Center’s communication. I have been a lecturer in Science Communication and Social Media for Scientists, at doctoral and master courses at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. My main interests are the use of theatre improvisation techniques and storytelling in Science Communication. I have also been engaging scientists to use social media tools to connect and interact with peers and lay persons, improving science visibility and public image of scientists. Founder and former president (2017-2020) of Portuguese Science Communicators Network SciComPT, I have been involved in the organization of the annual Portuguese Science Communication Congress.
