Prof. Murshed received his PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore ( ranks among the global TOP 40 in the QS World University Rankings®). He has been a visiting professor at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), New York and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT, Dhanbad), India. Previously, he also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and University of Central Florida (UCF), USA. Prof. Murshed is enlisted in the rankings of World's Top 2% Scientists (both Career and single year of 2021 impact lists) that was published by Stanford University in October 04, 2023. Notably, he ranked 66th among 791 listed scientists from Portugal in the list for the impact of single year 2022. Besides 12 books and 35 book-chapters he has so far authored/co-authored more than 225 scientific publications in leading international journals and conferences. Several of his papers have been classified as Highly Cited Papers by Web of Science (Essential Science Indicators). His current citation count is 10400 with h-index of 41 (Google Scholar). Prof Murshed has received ULisboa/CGD Scientific Award 2022 (Premios Cientifico Universidade de Lisboa/Caixa Geral de Depósitos 2022) in the areas of Mechanical, Naval and Aerospace Engineering for his exceptional scientific contributions and impacts. In 2020, he received the DUO-India Professor Fellowship Award (under ASEM-DUO Fellowship Program). His co-authored papers received Best Paper Awards in the 4th International Conference on Advances in Energy Research and Applications (ICAERA'23), 07-09 December 2023, Lisbon, Portugal and in 8th World Congress on Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer (MHMT23), 26-28 April 2023, Lisbon, Portugal. His another co-authored paper received Enrique Julia Award 2021 in 3rd European Symposium on Nanofluids (ESNF), 9-10 September 2021, Iasi, Romania. He has served as an editor of-Journal of Nanofluids (American Scientific Publishers) from 2012-2020 and is currently an Associate Editor, Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (Springer), guest editor of special issues of "Nanomaterials" (MDPI). He is also member of editorial board of several other international journals. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE) and European Thermoelectric Society (ETS). Prof. Murshed is a management committee member nominated by FCT (Portugal) of European COST action CA21156: FOLIAGE (2022-2026). He was also management committee member and a group leader of European COST action, CA15119: NanoUptake (2016-2020). He is also a core team member of European commission's CIG project (NANOConVEX: 2020-2021). He has regularly been serving as an expert evaluator for the European Commission and for funding agencies of different countries like The Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Romania, Portugal and so on. He also acts as an external reviewer for many international PhD theses like Imperial College London as well as about 40 international journals including numbers of top level ones like "Nature".
