Manuel Peres Alonso é físico e engenheiro, com mais de 30 anos de carreira internacional em física de plasmas e fusão nuclear. Doutorado pelo IST, especializou-se em diagnósticos óticos e lasers de alta potência. Colaborou com o JET (Reino Unido), liderou projetos no Brasil (TCABR, ETE) e trabalhou no Japão (LIPAc). Professor premiado pelo IST, combina investigação avançada com a excelência pedagógica, sendo consultor e revisor científico na área da engenharia de fusão.
