Afonso Oliveira is a PhD student at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), from University of Lisbon, and is also a Junior Research Fellow in the Communication Networks and Mobility group at INESC-ID, an Associate Laboratory of Portugal. He received his MSc from IST in Computer Networks with a thesis on design and optimization of optical networks. His current research interests include networks running on low-power such as Low-power and Lossy Networks (LLNs).
