Hugo is an Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. He's also an integrated researcher at the Interactive Technologies Institute / LARSyS. His research interests include human-computer interaction, and accessibility, focusing on the design, development, and evaluation of novel inclusive computing technologies. Hugo's goals include creating meaningful technologies that empower people with disabilities to address high-impact problems in areas such as education, health, and social exclusion. His research methods extend mostly from the discipline of human-computer interaction and are informed by perspectives in design justice, psychology, sociology, and disability studies. He is currently serving as Vice-President of the Interactive Technologies Institute.
