Gonçalo Tavares holds a PhD from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, in Electrical and Computer Engineering where he has been a lecturer and researcher since then. He has developed the electronics for NIR, Raman, and LIBS light spectroscopes and was co-responsible for developing the Communications, Telemetry, and Command (TT&C) subsystem of the ISTSat-1, the first Portuguese CubeSat, successfully launched in July 2024. He is senior member of IEEE and a member of IST Nanosatlab board of directors.
