IM main scientific interests lie in the development, understanding and application of alternative solvents such as ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents, showing their versatility in a wide range of industrial applications, from azeotrope breaking, to diesel deep desulfurization and polymer recycling, in environmental applications, such as water and air purification, and biological areas, like virus purification. The research strategy is encompasses both experimental thermodynamics and physical chemistry measurements and modelling.
