Experimental Particle Physicist, graduated in Physics in 1986 by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisboa, got the Ph.D. and "Agregação" (Habilitation in some countries) in Physics at IST in 1996 and 2007, respectively. Teacher at the Physics Department of IST since 1988. Researcher at LIP - Laboratório de Instrumentação e Física Experimental de Partículas (www.lip.pt) - since 1987. Member of the DELPHI Collaboration at CERN/LEP, from 1987 to the present date (although with much less activity since 2014), of the Pierre Auger Observatory, in Malargüe, Prov. Mendoza, Argentina, since 2006, of the IPPOG Collaboration since 2016, and of the SWGO Collaboration since 2019. LIP Outreach Coordinator since 2003, Chair of the IPPOG Collaboration since January 2020 and Vice-President of the Portuguese Physics Society since March 2022.
