M. Joana Correia é licenciada e doutorada em Engenharia Química pelo IST. É Professora Associada do Departamento de Engenharia Química (DEQ) e membro do Centro de I&D - CERENA. É membro do Conselho Pedagógico do IST, das Comissões Executivas do DEQ e da Plataforma IST- Ambiente. É co-coordenadora dos Mestrados em Engenharia Química e em Engenharia do Ambiente. A sua investigação centra-se na produção de biocombustíveis/biorrefinarias e no tratamento de resíduos e efluentes líquidos. Tem um índice h do Scopus de 25.
