Amilcar Soares, is Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon) and Visiting Professor at some other schools in Australia and Brasil. He was Distinguished Lecturer of International Association of Mathematical Geosciences. The most of his R&D work is focused on geostatistical and spatial data sciences methods applied to seismic characterization of mineral and energy resources. The most recent geostatistical applications are on Environmental Epidemiology, namely COVID 19 risk maps.
